About Dr. Michael Kettel

Dr. Michael Kettel has been a board-certified Obstetrician, Gynecologist, and Reproductive Endocrinologist at San Diego Fertility Center since 1996 and a Clinical Professor at the University of California since 2003. He completed an MD from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, and a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from the University of California, San Diego. He also earned a FACOG degree. He provides treatments including In vitro fertilization (IVF), Egg freezing, Uterine Fibroids, and Fertility Preservation.

Dr. Kettel served as a Resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Utah and a Director of Infertility Services at the University of California, San Diego. He was a Clinical Instructor from 1987 to 1989, Assistant Clinical Professor from 1989 to 1995, and Associate Clinical Professor from 1995 to 2003 at the University of California, San Diego. He received the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident Teaching Award in 1985 and 1986 and the University of Utah Outstanding House Officer Award in 1986.

Dr. Kettel is certified as a High Complexity Laboratory Director with additional Human Embryology and Andrology expertise. He was the "Best Doctor in America from 1996 to 2014, and the Best Doctor in San Diego by San Diego Magazine from 2002 to 2005. He has been the top obstetrician and gynecologist by the Consumers’ Research Council of America since 2002 and the top physician by the Consumers’ Research Council of America from 2003 to 2007. He received the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Faculty Scholar Award and over $1,000,000 in support for research grants.
