Dr. Michael D. Wittenberger

Dr. Wittenberger served as an Obstetrics and Gynecology intern in 1996 and Resident in 1999 at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He was a Head of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Naval Medical Center San Diego and an Assistant Professor of Gynecologic Surgery and Obstetrics at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He was also a Clinical Faculty to the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellow at the University of California San Diego. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in 2004 and the Army Commendation Medal in 2007.

Dr. Michael was the outstanding Student in Medicine at Littleton Public Schools in 1985, and the “Early Inductee” Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 1994. He received the Robert C. Lewis Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Biochemistry (UCSOM) in 1992, the Clarence Maaske Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Physiology in 1993, the Richard Whitehead Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Pharmacology in 1993, and the Gottesfeld Memorial Award for Highest Overall Achievement in the Basic Sciences in 1993. He was recognized for Instructor Potential for Advanced Trauma Life Support in 1998, and recognized for Instructor Potential for Advanced Cardiac Life Support in 2001. He received the Best Teacher Award in 2003, the Associate Master Clinician Award in 2013, and the Master Clinician Award from Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2014.
